Live in San Mateo County
If you move out of San Mateo County, you cannot stay in this plan. To find out what your other health care options are, call your local county eligibility worker at 1-800-223-8383, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Medicare rules do not allow you to live outside of San Mateo County for more than six months in a row. If you are away longer, you will lose your CareAdvantage coverage. To keep your CareAdvantage plan up-to-date, call the CareAdvantage Unit.
Medicare and Medi-Cal
CareAdvantage is for people who have both Medicare parts A & B and Medi-Cal. If you lose your Medi-Cal for some reason, you must get it back within two months in order to remain a CareAdvantage member. If you are no longer eligible for Medicare parts A & B, your CareAdvantage coverage will end.
