Prepare for Wildfires & Planned Power Outages
Wildfire season has started in California, and there have been several fires in San Mateo County. The fires can be large, fast-moving and dangerous. If officials tell you to evacuate, do so immediately for your own safety. Even if you are not directly in the path of fire, smoke in the air can cause health problems, especially for people with respiratory conditions.
To prevent wildfires caused by electrical sparks, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) may shut off power in certain areas at certain times. PG&E will schedule and announce these public safety power shutoff (PSPS) events in advance.
Important information for people who use electricity to refrigerate medications or run medical equipment.
