Protect Your Home Against Wildfires
The CAL FIRE website has detailed advice about what you can do to help protect your home and property from being damaged by wildfires. Their
recommended steps include:
- Creating a defensible space that puts a buffer between your home and burnable items such as plants and outdoor furniture
- Hardening your home using non-flammable materials for your roof, walls and other outside surfaces
- Using fire-resistant landscaping such as non-flammable materials for patios, decks and walkways and planting fire-resistant foliage
