Where We Work

We offer most staff the flexibility to either work remotely or onsite at our South San Francisco office. While the majority of employees choose the 100% telecommuting option, some always work in the office and others opt for a split onsite/remote schedule. We offer this range of options so eligible employees can choose the best fit for their workstyle and lifestyle. 

A majority-remote workforce

We provide telecommuting employees with all the technology and resources they need to do their jobs, including:

  • Computer hardware such as laptops, Virtual Private Network (VPN) devices and other accessories
  • Computer software specific to each position, with Microsoft Teams being used companywide for videoconferencing 
  • On-demand online education through LinkedIn Learning, a video-based training platform with more than 5,000 business, technology and creativity courses—including nearly 100 digital resources about remote work 
  • Virtual ergonomic evaluations to make sure home workstations are set up for optimal long-term health and productivity

Our office

HPSM is located in South San Francisco just ten miles from downtown San Francisco in a thriving high-tech epicenter known as the “Birthplace of Biotech.” Our modern five-story office building was acquired in 2015 and renovated to our specifications with amenities aimed at optimizing employee satisfaction and productivity, including:

  • Private conference rooms with large-screen monitors that can be reserved online
  • An open floor plan and shared workspaces to encourage collaboration
  • Break rooms on every floor and a large café on the ground floor
  • An onsite fitness center exclusively for employees and other building tenants

Commuter resources

We offer a Pre-tax Commuter Benefit Program for mass-transit and parking expenses related to commuting.
