Differences Between the Flu and COVID-19

The flu and COVID-19 share some things in common. They are both contagious respiratory illnesses, so they have some of the same symptoms. But they are caused by two very different viruses. Because of that, COVID-19 has higher hospitalization and death rates than the flu. 

It is hard to tell whether you have the flu or COVID-19 based on symptoms alone. That is why, if you feel sick, you should call your provider and ask if you should get tested for both the flu and COVID-19.
