Trent Ehrgood

Chief Financial Officer

Trent Ehrgood joined Health Plan of San Mateo as Chief Financial Officer in March 2019 with 20 years of managed care experience. Prior to joining HPSM, Trent was Vice President and Controller for Brown & Toland Physicians, a delegated physician group that assumed risk for health insurance companies, including commercial plans, Medicare Advantage and Managed Medi-Cal. He played a key role in developing Brown & Toland Health Services, a limited Knox Keene health plan entity that assumed global risk for Medicare Advantage plans. To build the program, he partnered with senior leadership to develop strategic direction, led all the finance departments (including accounting, financial planning and analysis, data analytics and facilities) and provided financial reporting and leadership to all levels of management (including budgeting, forecasting and new business modeling).  

Trent earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree (MBA) in finance and accounting from California State University of Sacramento.
