Access to health care data
To give patients better access to their health data, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires health plans offering Medicare Advantage (such as CareAdvantage), Medicaid, CHIP and Qualified Health Plans to allow their members to share their health care data with third-party applications. Members who share their data can then access their HPSM health records at any time on a smartphone or tablet.
Allowing our members to share their health information makes HPSM compliant with CMS’s Patient Access API and Interoperability Ruling (CMS-9115-F). This ruling is designed to improve health care outcomes, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
